Kateri Brow Grants
Named for a past superintendent of the Issaquah School District, Kateri Brow Grants are awarded to encourage continuous improvement in education within the Issaquah School District. Kateri Brow Big Idea Grants are awarded for programs that reflect vision and innovation in education. Kateri Brow Biggest Need Grants are awarded for programs that respond to a compelling need. Kateri Brow awards range in amount from $1,000 to $10,000.

|Recess Enhancement Program – Play Coach
This grant provides an additional adult on the playground during recess whose sole focus is to positively interact with students and give students confidence to problem solve playground issues with their peers.
This grant supports Cafe ACT, a coffee service program that seeks to provide special education students with the opportunity to participate in an integrated and enriching vocational experience.

|WEB (Where Everybody Belongs)
This grant funds the WEB project. WEB, which stands for “Where Everybody Belongs,” is an orientation and transition program that supports all incoming sixth and new seventh/eighth grade students. Aimed to create a consistent transition program within the district’s five middle schools, WEB also creates leadership opportunities for 8th grade students.

|Model United Nations
This grant funds the Model United Nations Club and related conference costs. Through public speaking, debate and problem-skills, this club seeks to enrich students with global knowledge and broaden their world views through current events and global awareness.
|Classroom Robotics, Coding and Computer Science Exploration: Bee Bots
This grant funds Bee Bots, programmable floor robots to aid in teaching mathematical problem solving, directional language, and programming to kindergarten classrooms while also providing a beautiful hands-on connection to coding.

|Connected Fitness Technology
This grant funds for licensing and educator access to connect iPads, blue-tooth sensors and Polar heart rate watches for physical education classes. PE teachers and students will be able to teach students how to exercise and workout more efficiently focusing on ideal heart-rate zones for each student.

|Touch the Next Generation of Learners
This grant will equip two classrooms with iPad Air tablets to harness student collaboration, critical thinking, engagement, and create a student-centered 21st century learning environment.
